Tommy the Texan was the inspiration of the author after having had the pleasure of flying with the North American Trainer Association, (NATA), during a clinic on formation flying held in Punta Gorda, Florida.
After a flight in a T-6 Texan, the name ‘Tommy the Texan’ came to the authors mind. Always wanting to share his love of flying with the youth of today he envisioned sharing his adventures and flights over the past 45 years as seen through the travels of ‘Tommy’ and ‘Captain Billy’.
His hope was not only to entertain with the flights, but to educate. Not only about flight, daily life, and the aircraft but, through their travels, the geography over which they travel.
By adding the maps and information in the back of the book it is hoped that the reader will further explore the world of Aviation as well as the World in general.
What better way to educate and explore than through the travels of “Tommy the Texan and Captain Billy”.
