TOMMY REMEMBERS

The late afternoon was settling in around the airport. Captain Billy’s friends had left for the day. They had said their goodbyes to Billy and waved a goodbye to Tommy. The metal sea shell chairs had been put back in their place along one side of the hanger. Tommy could tell by the shadows in front of his doors that the sun was heading off into the western sky. He knew it was setting over the hills. Tommy saw the shadow of the wind sock on the roof as it began to cast a longer and longer shadow on the ramp.
